FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Emergent Game Technologies
Sponsors Game-Design Think Tank

Austin, Texas (August, 2006) Some problems are just too big for an individual or a single company to solve alone. But what if brilliant minds could join forces in a non-competitive environment and use their wisdom, knowledge, and inspiration to form a virtual giant brain capable of addressing these issues? The game design community now has the means to accomplish this, and it comes in the form of a think tank called Project Horseshoe. Emergent Games Technologies, a game development tools and services provider, announced today that it has signed on as a Silver Sponsor for this event.

“We’re constantly looking for ways to support the craft of game development,” said Bennett Hazlip, Emergent’s marketing director. “As a gathering of the leading thinkers engaged in that craft, Project Horseshoe is just the type of event that gets us excited about the future of our industry.”

And excited they should be. George Sanger, Teresa Avallone and Linda Law, the group that created the highly influential think tank for interactive music, Project Bar-B-Q, have teamed up once again to create a similar conference designed to answer a new call. Its mission statement is to positively influence the art, science and business of game design over the next five years in ways that are unlikely to happen otherwise. To some this might seem like a high toss of the shoe. Others see it as a perfect ringer.

Based on ten years of experience hosting Project Bar-B-Q, Sanger believes some amazing results can be expected from Project Horseshoe. “We know we have a problem-solving process that works, and with a group of the top game design minds in attendance, we'll have the ability to tackle industry-wide problems and make significant headway in solving them.” (Please take a look at www.projectbarbq.com for a history of results, achievements and testimonials.)

Sanger says Project Horseshoe is pleased to have Emergent Game Technologies as a sponsor. “This is a conference for visionaries, so this sponsorship is a great match—Emergent has built a solid reputation for technology and services that open up new possibilities for game developers. We’re thrilled to have them on board.”
